Prolific children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
An official for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was made after an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.
The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."
A Prolific Literary Career
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.
Some of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
